Reason to be Proud

I recently learned that my Mom's cousin's daughter has been listed among the 50 Most Influential Americans in the UK; she came in #28.

28. JOANNA SHIELDS, head of Bebo in Europe
Joanna Shields became the head of social networking site Bebo's international business in January. She was poached by Bebo from Google, where she had been managing director of strategic partnerships for the Europe. She is based in the UK, where Bebo has about 11 million users aged between 13 and 24 who spend almost 40 minutes on the site every day they log on.
With 20 years of experience in the technology industry, at Google Ms Shields initiated partnerships with some of the world's largest media and telecom companies, including BSkyB.
At Bebo she has continued to orchestrate high-profile partnerships with the likes of Yahoo, which will exclusively sell advertising on the Bebo site as it battles to overcome powerful rivals Microsoft and Google.
KateModern, the blog-style teen drama screened in two-minute episodes five days a week on Bebo, was the brainchild of Ms Shields.
