2006 Book Challenge: Just Read Already!
35. The Postman Always Rings Twice; James M. Cain (116 pages)
This is one of 'those' titles; one that everyone feels they should read. Like Silas Marner, Great Expectations, or MacBeth (I have, in fact, read all three). And I am a fan of the genre, so I should have enjoyed Postman.
I didn't.
This is one of those cases were not one single character has one single, redeeming, quality. I could see what was coming, and I wasn't sorry when it did.
I'm fine with the morally ambiguous hero/narrator, but these characters were just awful.
But, I've read it. That's over.
