There's Such a Thing as Too Cute
You know those TV ads for On-Star? The ones featuring children, asking 'what if' and 'who would'? One of them even has a version of "The Long & Winding Road" playing in the background.
These cute kids who, with their plaintively-asked questions, are supposed to tug at my heart strings (and subsequently get me to run to computer and subscribe to On-Star).
Perhaps it's just me, but I, instead, find the commercials to be a bit too cloying and contrived. The kids are trying a bit too hard, and I find myself saying snarky things to the television set.
Sorry, On-Star; you failed with this one.
