Firefly
No, I'm not talking about the doomed-to-fail Joss Whedon film, based on an already-failed Joss Whedon television show, with an already-pushed-back release date (I know I sound negative...and I'm actually a Whedon fan!).
Instead, I'm talking fireflies...lightning bugs, gloworms.
I don't like bugs. I stopped going camping because I came to a point in my life when waking up to find multi-legged creatures all over my sleeping bag and tent was no longer acceptable.
I make exceptions for a few, though; butterflies, lady bugs...and lightning bugs.
No matter how old I get (and no matter how hard I try not to), I still watch, with child-like wonder, as the fireflies dance outside my windows.
They're just so...neat.
And last night, we had a firefly in our bedroom.
It must have come in while Matt was installing the brand-spankin'-new air conditioner the other night (with temps in the mid-to-upper seventies in the evening, it's a beautiful thing to have).
So, I fell asleep watching the on-and-off glow...kind of nice, actually.
And yes, we're attempting a catch-and-release...

Idle Chatter:
And I don't want to unduly influence Alex! He sees a cartoon featuring cute, talking, bugs...and thinks it's great. What am I supposed to say? "No, honey; Mommy does not love spiders..."
