Reminiscing

While looking up some stuff for my food blog (and please visit, I've made some amazing dishes lately), I found a web site profiling all the different shops and restaurants near our house in Oakland.

Oh! I miss those places...like The Great Wall, and my favorite sushi place. I bought a few necklaces here, while out with the girls one Saturday.

Matt and I would get croissants here Sunday mornings, with a big cup of tea. Sometimes we'd eat them at the store, once we found a little park and just soaked up the sun.

We went to Olivetto's (no picture, sorry) for our very first 'date', the weekend we met in person.

Sometimes we's stop in here for ice cream...it was like stepping back to the 1960's.

We'd also go here occasionally; it was a bit farther from home (but right next to a used record shop!).

This is where I got my hair done...and had a serious case of sticker shock.

I found an amazing pair of Charles David shoes here, for under twenty bucks!

Fabulous lunch and breakfast place here; you gotta love the name.

Barney's; home to the best burger, ground beef or veggie, you'll Ever taste. And yum...curly fries and chocolate malts.

The old grocery store...

Good memories. I can't believe how much I miss it.

So, take a tour of my old neighborhood...so much to see and do.

Idle Chatter:
Hey, I like your blog, and I like your name! Stephanie, aka Manic Mom

Hey, thanks!

I'm always happy to welcome another stay-at home mommy; we need to stick together!

I can't believe there's another Stephanie out there who likes, much less knows about, Poi Dog Pondering! I saw them oh...six or seven years ago, in Pittsburgh. Got the CD, too. Seems like a lifetime ago.
