Overheard
Last night, I could hear Matt getting Alex ready for bed. There were the usual struggles and dramas (what kind wants to go to bed?), but when it came time to choose a book for his bedtime story, Alex knew exactly what he wanted.
"My cookbook!", I heard him exclaim.
Yes, for his 'story', Alex selected Mollie Katzen's Pretend Soup and Other Real Recipes . Matt proceeded to read him four or five recipes, with Alex frequently reading along.
That's our kid, alright.
