The Last Original Thought

Anyone else notice how many remakes are out there these days? Well, I know the folks at TCM have: they've dedicated Tuesdays in December to showing the original films of 20 different remakes!

Scheduled for this month (beginning this evening):

Ocean's Eleven (1960)

Scarface (1932)

Cape Fear (1962)

The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946)

The Ladykillers (1955)

King Kong (1933)

The Haunting (1963)

Psycho (1960)

Father of the Bride (1950)

Yours, Mine and Ours (1968)

The Shop Around The Corner

Sabrina (1954)

The Thing (from Another World)

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)

Wings of Desire

Death Takes A Holiday (1934)

Alfie (1966)

Pride and Prejudice

The Time Machine (1960)

The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)

Of the originals, I've seen eleven. Of the remakes on which they're based? Just 4!

Be sure to check local listings for dates and times; you won't want to miss them.
