Still Saving Family Farms...20 Years Later

I honestly remember the very first Farm Aid. And I've tuned in to MTV and even CMT over the years, as Mellencamp, Nelson, Young and Co. (sounds like a Midwestern law firm, doesn't it?) raised money and awareness for America's farmers.

You'd think, with all they've done over the years, all the press, that we wouldn't be coming up on Farm Aid 20, right?

Then again, we really shouldn't need Live 8, Feed the Children, AMFAR, ACS, and so on. Should we?

This year's Farm Aid is focusing on "saving family farms by creating demands for organic food and alternative energy sources". Now, why can't the government get behind that? Oh...right. This is the same government that won't agree to the global warming treaty, is running through protected wildlife areas...gotcha.

So, it's up to us. Do your part. Tune it to Farm Aid 20, send money, buy organic. Save family farms. That is all. Thank you and goodnight.
